PrisonCalls is a telecommunications company that specialises in reducing the call cost from a UK prison to a mobile phone. So instead of a prisoner being charged the traditional mobile rate for a call, they will only be charged the cost of calling from 1.9p per minute. Therefore, by signing up to our service, you are supporting the prisoner in making their phone prison credit go further.
Direct calls to a mobile phone are more expensive than to a landline for people who are incarcerated. For an inmate to call a mobile can cost as much as 50p + a minute (this can increase depending on what time of day you call). However, to call a mobile can cost from just 1.9p per minute.
When the prisoner calls your mobile using your dedicated landline number we provide, they will be charged the prison landline rate per minute regardless of calling your mobile. When you purchase a package, for instance a 1000 minutes package, this means the prisoner will receive 1000 minutes paying the prison landline rate.
The reduction in cost is so great that the prisoners’ phone credit will last much longer than if they were to call a mobile directly.

You will receive an email from us to let you know your landline number is activated and ready to use.This can take up to 24 hours during a working week. You then need to pass the landline number to the prisoner to add onto their PIN list. Once accepted by the prison, the prisoner can use the landline number
The numbers stay with you, so you can, therefore, take these to a different prison. The number is your friends or family members and will be theirs for as long as they have a PrisonCall membership.
